Photosynthesis Problem Set 1
Problem 5 Tutorial: Overall energy source
The overall source of energy for photosynthesis is:
Energy source for photosynthesis
Light is a form of energy. Light energy is absorbed by pigments in the thylakoid membranes. These pigment molecules, with added energy, can lose electrons and begin the chain of oxidation-reduction reactions and proton movements that eventually leads to ATP and NADPH synthesis. |
