What's Wrong with the Plants?

Activity 1:

A Rubric "Laboratory Performance Assessment" will be used to assess the performance of students as they attempt to determine what may be the cause/s of the unhealthy plant. I will assign point totals to each category.

The written portion of this activity will include their detailed observations and the Lab Activity form with the proposed hypotheses and experiments.

Activity 2: (Optional)

This portion of the lab will be assessed by using the Rubric "Laboratory Performance Assessment" to evaluate the performance in designing and carrying out their experiments and a "Student Lab Report Evaluation" Rubric to evaluate the written lab report.

Activity 3 (Extension--Library Research)

Students will be evaluated as a group and individually on their research into a plant disease topic. A prescribed criterion will be used that has been given to the students. Students’ written reports will be evaluated using the "Plant Disease Topic Research Report Evaluation", and presentations will be evaluated using "Plant Disease Topic Research Presentation Evaluation ".

Unit Test Worksheet

Students will be given a synthesis-type test/worksheet (depending on lesson or unit format) which will evaluate their ability to integrate the experience and knowledge they have acquired in this lesson and apply it to other situations.
