Step 5. Submit Annual Progress Reports

Before the end of your first summer of research experience, schedule another supervisory committee meeting (to be held by Aug. 31). At the meeting, you should:

  • At least 1 week prior to this meeting, provide an outline of your research progress to your committee members.
  • Briefly (30 min.) present your progress.
  • Describe future plans and discuss any problems.
  • Have your committee members sign your annual progress form. Be sure to include a written description of your progress and turn a copy in to Ellie Warder.

After the first summer of research, you should meet with your committee at least once a year (end of Summer). This is the minimum number of times you should meet with the committee. We encourage you to schedule additional meetings as needed. Communication with your thesis supervisor must be much more frequent (daily basis in the summer; at least once a semester in Fall and Spring).
