Science Foundation Arizona Scholarships for Summer 2010

A limited number of partial scholarships are available in Summer 2010 for in-service Arizona K-12 teachers. If you qualify and wish to be considered for one of these scholarships, please fill out this form and submit it to Ellie Warder with your application packet.The amount of each scholarship depends upon your level of participation. Also, priority will be given to applicants who teach in rural Arizona counties (i.e., NOT Maricopa/Pima Counties).


Research Scholarships

HHMI Research Scholarships for students enrolled in the General Biology M.S. Program:
Courtesy of the Howard Hughes Medical Institutes (HHMI), limited financial aid is available while you are engaged in your research experience. The minimum annual award is $1,000. You may reapply for funding each year you do research. Awards will be made on a competitive basis. An award in one year does not guarantee you will receive funding in future years.


Tuition Waivers

Courtesy of the College of Science, we expect to offer partial tuition waivers in the Fall and Spring semesters. Tuition waivers are pro-rated according to units of credit (i.e., ~$750 for someone taking 3 units of credit costing ~$1,300). You must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be enrolled in the Master of Science degree program in General Biology
  • You must maintain a 3.00 GPA
  • You must enroll in at least 3 units of credit in the Fall and/or Spring semesters, not all of which can be distance learning courses
  • You must be making satisfactory progress towards your degree
  • You must be enrolled in your classes on the application due date

Spring 2010 Tuition Waiver Application - due November 16, 2009

All scholarships are based on availability of funds.
